Rixt Luikenaar, M.D., FACOG
Rixt Luikenaar, M.D., FACOG, is a board certified Obstetrician and Gynecologist with over 15 years of experience. She received her medical degree Cum Laude from the University of Groningen Medical Sciences in Groningen, The Netherlands and did her residency training at West Virginia University Hospital. She joined the University of Utah Faculty in 2003. She has privileges to perform surgery and deliver babies at University of Utah Hospital and St. Mark’s Hospital.
Dr. Luikenaar loves her husband and 2 children age 7 and 10 and her 4 Sphynx cats. She is passionate about taking care of others and educating the community and other healthcare providers about Minority Health Care. She likes music, especially trance and loves to travel. She was born in The Netherlands and has lived in Curacao, Netherlands Antilles, Cairns Australia, and travelled to many places including Medical Missions to Columbia and Tanzania. She can speak other languages (Dutch, German) fluently and plays the piano.
Dora Redmustache, CMA, ST
Dora Redmustache has over 16 years of clinical experience, 14 of which assisting in surgery, and 6 years with Dr. Luikenaar at the University of Utah Greenwood Clinic. Dora is well known among the medical community for her energetic personality and dedication to her patients.
Dora has experience working in trauma, but her heart is in labor & delivery. Dora is Navajo Indian and visits home in Sweet Water, Arizona every weekend. She also sells jewelry and gifts at the Four Corners’ Trading Post. She loves chocolate, Pow Wows, and going to Rodeos. In fact, her youngest brother is a PBR pro! We’re very fortunate to have Dora at Rebirth OB/GYN.
Florence married her sweetheart from India and was a stay at home mom until her 3 daughters all went to college. She then went to Medical Assistant School and spent her externship with Dr. Luikenaar in OB/GYN at the U of U.
She loves OB/GYN and when a position opened up at Rebirth she didn’t hesitate to come work with us. She loves the diversity at the clinic and gives motherly advice to many patients.
Alejandra also spent her externship with us in OB/GYN at the U of U. She and her husband have 3 children. She is bilingual which helps us reach out to the Latino population in SLC. She is happy and always upbeat.
